How to convert your audio to MP3 format
Okay, welcome again, this article is the continuation of our previous post on How to record audio using audacity but in this part 2, we will be writing on how to convert your audio to MP3 format after recording it.
But before we start, what do you understand or know about an MP3 file? because one thing is that you can not use what you don’t understand nor know about.
So let’s start with that. Although I will not be giving you the definition of what MP3 means so you if you want to know that, you will have to google about the meaning.
But right now, I will tell you few things about an MP3 and why people like using it.
An MP3 file is a file that can play on any media play that you wish to use. Yeah, MP3 files do not select players that’s why a lot of people make use of it without being scared if it will play on their device or the other person’s device when downloaded.
So now you know what mp3 is and why people use the mp3 format when saving or making their audio in a studio.
Now the main question is, how do you convert your audio to mp3 format when you are done recording using audacity, well that I will tell you right below here.
1 After you are done recording, stop your audio, on the upper menu of the software, you will see “File”
2 Click on the file and scroll down until you reach where you see import, keep your couser there another small window will display
3 Click on the export as Mp3
4 set the name you want to use as a display name and then check below if the saving is on mp3 format already or on another file format, if another file, click on the drop down and scroll until you see mp3 and then select it
5 Click on okay.
Although other options will come up when you want to do the final saving, don’t worry about then, audacity do come with nice default settings, ignore them and just click on save.
then your file will start export your audio on mp3 format. But ensure that you don’t interrupt it in the process of export.
